Persistence of Memory conference and the
Stewardship of Digital Assets workshop?
Persistence of Memory: Stewardship of Digital Assets is a two-day conference for an audience of around 250 people. The conference will be presented in a lecture format, and there will be Q&A sessions after each presentation. There will be an opportunity to confer one-on-one with the eleven speakers during breaks and at the reception. The size of the conference will allow you to meet and network with colleagues from similar institutions who share the same challenges. The subject matter will cover Big Concepts in digital preservation and will include several case studies. The conference presents an overview of the current digital preservation landscape.
Stewardship of Digital Assetsis a two-day workshop for 35 people, and has been offered in three locations around the country in 2008 – Philadelphia, PA; Morrow, GA; Dallas, TX; and will be offered in Tacoma, WA on October 14-15, 2008. (A series is planned for 2009. Locations are not yet finalized, watch the NEDCC website for news.) The focus will be on very practical elements of digital stewardship. Interaction with the four faculty members and small group discussions are integral components of this program. This nuts-and-bolts workshop will help you plan for the preservation of your digital assets and is especially useful to those who are already knee-deep in a digital project.
