Program

Digital Directions 2012 spans two and a half days of exploration, consideration, and discussion about the essentials of digitization. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity to learn about standards and best practices for content and metadata, review “tried and true” strategies and workflows, and ponder emerging trends and technologies, such as “mobile,” “cloud,” and “crowd.”

Conference Agenda

A conference program is available below. As faculty presenters, session titles, and abstracts are set, the program will be updated accordingly.

Day 1: Digital Foundations

Day 1 introduces the foundations of digital collections care, offering overview plenaries on creating good digital collections, curating our digital heritage, and opening up those resources to be discovered, used, and re-purposed by scholars, students, and the general public. Each plenary wraps-up with a panel Q&A sessions with Digital Directions faculty. Standards, best practices, and metadata round out the afternoon. All attendees are invited to a Welcome Reception!
