NEDCC will be relocating to a new facility in Fall 2025. To ensure a seamless transition with little to no disruption to services or project timelines, we've put together the following FAQs to cover important details.
Where are you moving?
We’re moving five miles from our current location to a newly remodeled space at 600 Federal Street, Suite 100S, Andover, MA.
Why are you moving?
For the past 35 years, our current space has supported many significant milestones and will remain in use during this transition. Our new 20,000-square-foot facility is in a modern building designed for scientific use and technological innovation, providing an ideal environment to expand our Imaging and Audio Preservation services while streamlining conservation workflows.
When are you moving?
We anticipate welcoming clients to our new space in late Fall 2025. In the meantime, we will continue to operate from our current location, ensuring minimal to no disruption to ongoing projects or schedules. We are also ready to implement contingency plans if any delays arise.
Clients with ongoing projects at NEDCC will receive regular updates on the relocation schedule and potential delays to project deadlines.
Are you still accepting new projects?
Yes, absolutely! Our current facility will remain operational throughout the phased relocation process. We encourage clients to continue reaching out to the appropriate department directors for any inquiries or project details.
Clients also have flexibility when it comes to relocating their materials. Upon shipping or delivering your materials to NEDCC’s current facility, you will be asked to choose your preferred option for the subsequent safe transfer of your materials to our new location at the appropriate time. See additional information under “Handling and Care,” below.
Will the move have an impact on the fees for NEDCC’s services?
No. The fees for NEDCC’s conservation, preservation, and reformatting services will not increase as a result of the relocation.
Will the move impact the completion date of my project?
We will maintain operations at our current facility throughout the phased relocation process to minimize project disruption. In the event of any delays, our project directors will reach out to discuss a revised timeline.
Clients with ongoing projects at NEDCC will receive regular updates on the relocation schedule and potential delays to project deadlines.
Have you made contingency plans?
Yes! While some challenges are unpredictable, we have taken proactive steps to ensure a smooth transition. Our relocation will be phased, allowing us to maintain workflow continuity. Different stages of conservation and reformatting will be strategically scheduled to prevent disruptions.
Will workshops, webinars, and assessments continue as planned?
Yes! NEDCC webinars and assessments will continue uninterrupted during the move, as will staffing for Ask NEDCC and the 24/7 Collections Emergency Hotline. If you have any questions about your consultation project or training registration, please contact [email protected].
Will NEDCC be closed for any period of time?
No. We will remain operational throughout the transition. However, we may limit in-person meetings with clients in the weeks leading up to and during the move.
If my materials are awaiting treatment, can they remain at NEDCC?
Yes! We will continue to work in our current facility until our move date and have a structured plan for moving all client materials after construction is complete. If you prefer to have materials returned to you before the move, please contact our Registrar, Jonathan Goodrich, at [email protected].
Will my materials be moved to the new facility during construction?
No. Prior to moving client materials, construction will be complete, all furniture and equipment will be installed, and we will have obtained a certificate of occupancy.
How will client materials be moved to the new facility?
Clients have flexibility when it comes to relocating their materials, and special arrangements can be made upon request to accommodate specific needs. We’ve outlined the available options in our Transfer of Objects form.
→ For clients with materials at NEDCC during the transition, our project managers will follow up with you regarding the Transfer of Objects form. We kindly ask that you indicate your preferences by June 30, 2025.
→ For new clients, you will complete the Transfer of Objects form along with your intake paperwork.
→ For clients with declined or completed projects at NEDCC, we request that all materials be returned by June 30, 2025. Please use our scheduling form to let us know whether you prefer your materials to be shipped or picked up in person. After submission, NEDCC Registrar Jonathan Goodrich will contact you with further details.
If we do not receive the completed Transfer of Objects form, the NEDCC Registrar will oversee the inventory, packing, and transportation of all client materials to the new facility at no cost to you.
Clients with ongoing projects at NEDCC will receive regular updates on the relocation schedule and potential delays to project deadlines. For additional information, we welcome clients to contact the relevant department member:
